A Nota Bene file be opened in any of the following ways:
| • | Nota Bene lists the nine most recently saved files at the bottom of the File menu (visible after you click File). To open a file on this list, click on the file name. |
| • | The Document dialog bar (Alt+D) provides a longer list of recently saved files, and it can be used to open a file or to display a file that is already open. See Document Dialog Bar. |
| • | The File Open dialog (File, Open or Ctrl+O) can be used to open a file. See File Open Dialog. |
| • | The Quick Open dialog (Ctrl+F9) can be used to open files that have been saved in this dialog or to open files in specified folders by typing in the name only. See Quick Open. |
| • | Nota Bene files can be opened from Windows File Explorer by double-clicking on the file (the file must have the extension .nb or another extension that you have associated with Nota Bene on your computer). |
| • | Nota Bene files can be opened from Windows File Explorer by clicking on the file icon in Windows Explorer and dragging it to the Nota Bene Title Bar (the colored bar at the top of the Nota Bene screen). You must arrange the windows on your screen so that both Windows File Explorer and Nota Bene are visible. Several files can be opened at the same time by selecting more than one file in File Explorer and dragging them all to the Nota Bene Title Bar. Select more than one file by holding down the Shift button while you use the mouse or the up/down arrow keys to expand the selection to contiguous files. Hold down the Ctrl button and use the mouse to add non-contiguous files to your selection. |
