Archiva Bibliography Converter lets you take existing formatted electronic bibliographies—text you have either typed or copied into Nota Bene—and convert this essentially unstructured data into Ibidem field-structured data, thus allowing you to cite (and eventually reformat) these works in your future work.
The process is simple:
Select the record(s) you want converted to Ibidem format
Go to Tools, Archiva, Convert Bibliographies
Select the format/style of the existing bibliography
• If your bibliography is not in one of the supported styles, selecting one that is similar—as long as
the basic field order matches—will often produce very useful results
Click OK to have Archiva convert the unstructured bibliography into structured (field-oriented) text
View the results in the Archiva Formatted Bibliography Conversion Results database
Make any edits that are required
Select the ones you want to append to your permanent Ibidem database(s)

When building records from formatted bibliographies, you can also have the option of typing in any optional text that you want to have added to specific fields. For example, if you are converting a bibliography given to you by a professor or colleague, you might want to add information about the source (Dr. Frei’s hermeneutics class) and date (January 1982).
You can add data in up to three fields, of your choosing. The text you specify will either:
Replace any other text that might have been output into that field during the conversion process
Be appended to any data that already exists in that field
Be add only if there is no text already in that field
