IMPORTANT NOTE
Nota Bene is a specialized “boutique” program for academics, researchers, lawyers, writers, and others with specialized, advanced needs. As such, it is not downloaded as often as other general-purpose programs. In addition, this release of NB 14 uses the latest hardware-based code-signing software (guaranteeing that the download comes from Nota Bene). Together, these two factors cause some anti-virus programs to give warnings that the software is unknown, and might pose a risk. You can safely ignore all such warnings — not only has this version been tested against multiple anti-virus programs, we have never delivered a virus, malware, spyware, or anything remotely like this in all the many years we have been developing and supporting Nota Bene. (The concerns we have about false positives are common complaints of smaller software companies, who have tried to get the big corporations to give more accurate and nuanced assessments, without any real success.)

The trial version has the following restrictions:
- It expires 30 days after installation
- Printing has been disabled
Please note:
- This new trial version of NB 14 can be installed even if earlier versions of the trial (5.x, 6.1, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, or even NB 10, 11, or 11.5, 12, or 13) have been installed
- If you have a full (non-trial) version of Nota Bene (any release, including the prior version 13) installed on your current machine, and you install this trial, you will not be able to print, and some other functions will be disabled. If you decide to install this trial, be sure that you have the installation program (NB.##.#.##.Setup.exe for Windows or NB.##.#.##.zip for the Mac) for the version you are running still available in your Downloads folder (we are not able to provide new download links for older versions) so you can reinstall it to reactivate that earlier version when finished running the trial in the event you decide not to upgrade to NB 14.
You can gain immediate access to the full version (including whatever optional add-on modules interest you) by placing an order on our secure shopping cart. This full version removes the above limitations, while letting you retain access to all the files, textbases, and databases you created while using the trial. (You can also call 718 382-1500 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST to place an order.)
