Sharing a File |
|
If you would like to share a file with a colleague who has Nota Bene, you can copy your file to a portable storage device (e.g. a flash drive) or to another computer on your network, or you can send the file via email. For instructions, see Copying a File or Send To. If you are using Nota Bene's Manuscript Files function, you should save your MST file as an NB file before sending. See Transmitting a Manuscript.
If your colleague does not have Nota Bene and plans to use the file with another word processor, you can send the file in RTF format. To save your open file to RTF, click File, Save As, and select RTF from the Formats drop down list. If you are emailing the file, you can use the Send To option on the File menu. For detailed instructions, see Send To or Converting Nota Bene Files to Other Formats.
If your colleague does not plan to edit the file, you can send the file in PDF format. To save your open file to PDF, click File, Save As, and select PDF from the Formats drop down list. If you are emailing the file, you can use the Send To option on the File menu. For detailed instructions, see Send To or Converting Nota Bene Files to Other Formats.

You can provide access to your database over a network or you can transmit your database to your colleague by saving it to a portable storage device or by sending it via e-mail. For instructions, see Copying a Database.
Once the database has been copied to your colleague's computer, the following two steps must be taken:
