Endnotes

Endnotes are footnotes placed at the end of a chapter or document rather than at the bottom of each page. Endnotes are created in Nota Bene by creating footnotes and using the Note Format dialog to specify the placement of the footnotes as endnotes.

To convert your footnotes to endnotes:

1Move the cursor to the top of your document (it must be before the first footnote).
2Click Format, Notes, Series I (or Series II or Series III)
3The Note Format dialog will appear.
4Click the Endnotes radio button.
Use the drop down list to specify the heading for the endnotes or type in your own text.
Click the Title Format button to format the heading for the endnotes.
Click the Placement button if you want to customize the placement of the endnotes.
5Click OK

When footnotes have been converted to endnotes, an NF (no footnotes) command will be visible in Codes View at the top of the document, and a DF (dump footnotes) will be visible in Codes View at the point where the endnotes are to be printed. These commands can also be entered using the action line. They can be moved or deleted in Show Codes View. See Editing in Codes View and NF and DF commands.

For a more detailed explanation of the options in the Note Format dialog, see Note Format dialog.
