Manuscript Files: Endnote Placement

 

You can choose to place endnotes at the end of each chapter or at the end of the manuscript file. You can also have chapter headings dividing each section of endnotes,

 

Formatting of footnotes and/and endnotes should be consistent for each component file of a manuscript. To set the note placement setting in each component file:

 

1Open the component file.
2Click Format, Notes, Series 1. The Note Format dialog will open.
3Select the Endnotes radio button and click Placement. The Endnote Location dialog will open.
4Select the End of Document radio button.
5Click OK.

 

Note placement can also be set within the MST file.

 

1Click Format, Document Overview. The Document Structure dialog will open.
2Click the Notes tab.
3Click to highlight the chapter number and make sure that the Location radio button is selected.
4Click Edit. The Endnote Location dialog will open.
5Select the End of Chapter or Section radio button.
6 Click OK.

Alternatively, endnote placement can be set by clicking File, Manuscript Files, Set Properties

 

To add chapter headings dividing each section of endnotes:

 

1Click Format, Notes, Series 1 (or Series 2 or Series 3)
2Check the Include Chapter-Divider Text option, and click OK.
3Click Format, Notes, Author Note/Divider Text, and add the text you want. You can change the alignment, font, add extra blank lines, etc.
