Creating a Template |
|
Master forms or templates to be used as the basis for future documents can be created. To create a new template:
After the template is created, you can start a new file based on the template by opening the New Standard Document Dialog (see step 1 above). Choose the template from the appropriate tab of the New Standard Document dialog.
Templates are stored in the Template folder. If you selected the legacy option when you installed Nota Bene then your template folder is C:\nbwin\. If you selected the new recommended installation which has a program folder and a separate home folder, your template folder will be in the new home folder, usually c:\users\me\Nota Bene\ (or, on Mac, users\me\Nota Bene\). Templates can be edited directly by opening the template file from your Template folder, making changes and saving it to the same location.
You can also create new templates by creating a new file and saving a file to the Template folder. To function as a template, the filename must have one of the template extensions: .fax for faxes, .mem for memos, .let for letters, .doc for other documents. Any file that has one of these extensions and is stored in the Template folder will be recognized as a template and you will be able to open it by going to the New Standard Document Dialog.
New template extensions can be added to suit your needs. For more information, see New template extensions.
