Footnote Wrap Separator

The footnote wrap separator is a footnote separator that is used specifically for a footnote that is continued from the previous page. If a footnote won't fit on one page, it will automatically continue (or wrap) on the next page. This next page is where the footnote wrap separator is used. If no footnote wrap separator is specified, Nota Bene will use the regular footnote separator for footnotes that continue on the next page. Nota Bene gives you control over the appearance of the footnote wrap separator. You may, for example want your footnote wrap separator to be a row of hyphens, underlines, or asterisks, followed by the text: "(continued)" to indicate that the footnote is continued from the previous page.

You can edit the wrap separator by clicking on it and editing it in place. The changes that you make will apply to all of the separators for the series. You can also edit the wrap separator from the Note Format dialog as follows:

1Click Format, Notes and then select the series to be formatted (usually Series I).
2The Note Format dialog will appear on your screen. Check the Set Format box, click the Footnote radio button and then click the Wrapped button.
3The footnote wrap separator window will appear at the bottom of your screen. Type the text for the footnote wrap separator, including carriage returns (Enter) for blank lines. Then press F3 (or click elsewhere in the document to move away from the separator window) to complete the creation of the footnote wrap separator.

Footnote separators and wrap separators can also be created using the action line. See Note Separator: FS command and Wrap Separator: FW command.
