Footnote Separator: FS command

The footnote separator is the line that separates the body text from the footnotes.  Usually a footnote separator is a row of hyphens, underlines, or asterisks preceded and/or followed by one or more blank lines. By default, the footnote separator is a dashed line, flush left followed by two carriage returns or blank lines.  To change the footnote separator:

1Move the cursor to the top of your document (it must be before the first footnote).
2Press F9 to access the action line.
3Type fs (or fs1)
4Press F10 to open the footnote separator window.
5The footnote separator window will appear at the bottom of your screen.  Type the text for the footnote separator, including carriage returns (Enter) for blank lines.  Then press F3 to close the footnote separator window and complete the creation of the footnote separator.

To issue the above commands with respect to footnotes in series 2 or 3, substitute fs2 or fs3 for fs in step 3.
