Tabs

 

Tabs can easily be added, edited, deleted or moved by using the ruler, (see Ruler), the action line (see TS command) or menus (follow the directions below). Using any of these methods will insert a TS (tab set) command in your document at the point of the cursor. The TS command will remain in effect until another TS command is issued. If there is no TS command at the top of your document, then the tab default setting will be in effect.  

 

Like any embedded command, the TS command can be seen and edited in Show Codes View. See Editing tab settings.

 

To use the menus to remove existing tabs:

 

1Click Format, Tabs
2Observe the currently set tabs in the center window of the Tabs Settings dialog.
Click Clear Selected to remove the currently selected tab.
Click Clear All to remove all existing tabs.

 

To edit existing tabs:

 

1Click Format, Tabs
2Observe the currently set tabs in the main window of the Tabs Settings dialog.
3Click on the tab setting you would like to edit.
4Enter tab value into Position slider control.
5Click desired Alignment radio button.
Left - aligns text flush left against specified tab stop
Right - aligns text flush right against specified tab stop
Center - uses specified tab stop as center point of text
Decimal - aligns a column of numbers by their decimal points
6Click Edit Tab

 

To add tabs:

 

1Click Format, Tabs
2Observe the currently set tabs in the main window of the Tabs Settings dialog.
3Enter tab value into Position slider control.
