A column of numbers can be formatted in Nota Bene by having the numbers aligned according to a decimal point. This can be done by setting a decimal tab using the Ruler or the menu or the action line.
To set a decimal tab using the Ruler:
| 1 | Move the mouse pointer to the tab button [it is located on the left side of the ruler and has a tab marker on it]. |
| 2 | Click on the tab button until you get a symbol that looks like a "T" with a dot by it. This is the decimal tab marker. |
| 3 | Click and drag the decimal tab marker to the place on the ruler where you would like the decimal tab to be. |
To set a decimal tab by using the Format menu:
| 2 | In the dialog box, click on the Decimal radio button in the Alignment section of the dialog box. |
| 3 | In the Position section of the dialog box, adjust the tab position to your preference [either using the arrows or by typing it in). |
| 4 | If the position of your decimal tab is identical to that of a previous tab, click Edit Tab. If the decimal tab is a new tab, click Add Tab. |
To set a decimal tab using the action line, see Tabs: TS command.
To align a number with the decimal tab, use the Tab key to move the cursor to the decimal tab. When you begin typing in a number, the numbers will display to the left of the tab. After you type in the decimal point, they will display to the right.
