To save a selected block of text under a new file name:
| 1 | a block of text in the open document. |
| 2 | Click File, Save As (or click the Save As button on the toolbar). |
| 3 | The Save As dialog box will appear on your screen. Complete the options as follows: |
| • | Click to check the Save Selected Text box at the bottom of the dialog |
| • | Type the new filename in the File Name box. |
| • | Browse to the drive and folder in which you will save the file. |
| 3 | Click OK. The file retained on your screen will be the original file, not the file with the new drive, path and filename. If you want to work with the new file you have just created, click File, Open and open it as you would open any file. |
