Saving a File: SA command

The SA command can be used to save a file. Use SAD to save a defined block of text.

To save a displayed file to the same drive, path and filename:

1Press F9 to access the action line.
2Type sa or save
3Press F10 to save the file. Nota Bene will save the file and leave it on screen so that you may continue editing. The file you are working in is the only one saved.

To save a copy of an open file to a new drive, path and filename:

1Press F9 to access the action line.
2Type sa d:\path\filename.nb (or save d:\path\filename.nb) where d:\path\filename.nb is the drive, folder and name of the file you wish to use. If you omit drive and path, Nota Bene will save the file in the current default location.
3Press F10 to save the file.

To save a block of text to a new file name, define a block of text in your file and use the sad command in place of sa as follows:

      sad d:\path\filename.nb

The file retained on your screen will be the original file, not the file with the new drive, path and filename. If you would prefer to switch to the new version, substitute sad/ne for sad.

The commands savedef or savesel can be used in place of sad.

The default folder can be changed by clicking Tools, Preferences, Directory/Folder Default (Action Line).
