The Predefined Orbis Format option allows you to use a different for the textbase. An "entry" is the unit of text that Orbis searches and retrieves. The default setting for Orbis textbase is Paragraphs: Regular and Alternate <Enter>, and this setting is recommended for most purposes. For a description of available entry types (or search units), see Entries. The Predefined Orbis Formats option allows you to select a different entry type and to select the folders that you want to search.
To create this textbase:
| 1 | From the Orbis Gateway, click Create New, or from an open Orbis textbase, click File, New Textbase. The Create New Textbase dialog will open. |
| 2 | Enter a name for your textbase. The location of the management files will be as shown. There is no need to change the location of the management files, but you can do so if you have a reason for saving these management files in a different location. |
| 3 | Click Predefined Orbis Formats. A list of available search units will appear. |
| 4 | Select the search unit (or entry) that you wish to use for this textbase. |
| 5 | Click GO. The Add/Remove Files dialog will open. |
| 7 | When you are finished, click Index. |
| 8 | The Orbis Indexer will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. When the indexing process is complete, you will be asked if you want to open the textbase. |
