Orbis Indexer |
|
When you click Index to create an Orbis textbase, the program creates an index of every word in every file that is included in the textbase. The process of creating an index can take just a minute or two, or it can take longer depending on the number of files included and the type of files. If you have purchased the additional Orbis+ formats, indexing will take longer if PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF and/or HTML files are included.
The status of the indexing process will be displayed at the bottom of the Orbis screen. The display of the indexer can be expanded by clicking the green + or contracted by clicking the green -.
At any time, the indexer log can be opened by clicking File, Nexus Options, View Log File. The indexer log gives information about the files that are included, including a list of each file.
If you have Orbis+, the indexer log gives important information about PDF files that have been included in the textbase. For more information, see Searching PDF files.
