Defining a Column

Columns can be created using tabular tables (i.e, using the tab key). The F2 key can be used to define a tabular column or free-form block. This may be useful if you want to add a column of numbers and then insert the total.

To define a column (or any free-form block of space), use the F2 key as follows:

1	Place your cursor at the beginning of the column or block you want to define.

2	Press F2 twice.

3	Hold down the Shift button while you press the right arrow key and then the down arrow key to move to the end of the block. The column or free-form block will be highlighted on screen.

When you define a column of numbers, make sure that all of the digits are highlighted. For example, if you want to add a column of numbers that includes the number 1,000 and the final 0 is not included in the highlighted block, then Nota Bene will treat the number as 100 rather than 1000.
