Character Case |

A case command (the RG command) can be used to set the case so that all text after the command will appear in all uppercase letters, all lowercase letters, all small caps or uppercase and small caps. With any of the first three of these settings in place, the usual distinction between typing a lowercase letter and an uppercase letter is ignored. This change affects the appearance of the text on screen and when printed. However, if you switch to Show Codes View, you will see that the capitalization as originally typed is still in place. This command could be used, for example, to print a document in all caps while retaining the ability to easily change back to the original combination of uppercase and lowercase letters. This is an embedded command and like any embedded command, it is effective from the point in the document where it is inserted until it is overridden by another command. Nota Bene also provides commands and convenient keyboard shortcuts that can be used to permanently change the case of letters that have been typed. See Change Case or Change Case: uc, lc, cc, fc commands.
To change the case of text that has been typed or will be typed:
The same case command can be inserted by using the Set Font dialog (Format, Font or Ctrl+T). See Font Settings. For more information about the RG command, see Character Case: rg command.
To reverse the effects of a character case command so that all characters are rendered as typed, switch to Show Codes View and find and delete all RG commands.
