Tabula: Retrieve Biblical Texts

With Tabula, a Retrieve Biblical Texts option is added to the Retrieve menu on the main Orbis screen.  This option can be used to retrieve any portion of the biblical text (an entire book, a portion of a book, or several consecutive books).  Before retrieving biblical texts, you must create a textbase for each biblical text that you plan to use.  See Indexing Biblical Texts.

To retrieve a biblical text:

1Open Orbis (click Tools, Orbis or click the Orbis button on the main Nota Bene screen)
2Open the biblical textbase that you plan to retrieve (select the textbase from the drop list at the top left of the Orbis screen or see Open Textbase for further instructions).
3Click Discover, Search/Retrieve Biblical Texts.
4In the Orbis Book: Retrieve dialog, make the following selections:
In the top section, select the beginning and ending book, chapter and verse. If the Entire Book(s) check box is checked, the chapter and verse settings will not be active.
In next section down, you can select whether or not you want the reference for the chapter/verse put in, and if you click Edit, you will get another dialog that will let you decide how you want the output formatted.
The bottom section of the dialog lets you select whether to send the results to a new file, to the current cursor position in the open file, or to the end of the open file.
5Once you have the settings as you want them, click OK.
