With Nota Bene's track changes feature, you can add or delete text and keep track of the changes. Additions and deletions can be shown in different colors or as as double underline (additions) and strike through (deletions). The person making the changes and the date and time is recorded and visible within a TX command in Codes View. See Track Changes Commands in Codes View.
There are three steps to using the Track Changes feature: (1) setup, (2) turn Track Changes on (or off) and make changes and (3) review and accept or reject changes. These steps are three options on the Proof menu:
Setup Click Proof, Track Changes Setup to open the Track Changes Setup dialog. Use this dialog to make the following selections:
Track Changes On/Off To begin tracking changes, click Proof, Track Changes On/Off or press Ctrl+6 (using the number 6 on the top row of the keyboard). When track changes is on, any text you enter or delete will be marked. To turn Track Changes off, click Proof, Track Changes On/Off or press Ctrl+6.
Track Changes remains on only as long as the file is open. It will always be off when a file is reopened. When Track Changes is on, you cannot access Show Codes View. After turning Track Changes off, Show Codes View can be accessed.
Accept/Reject Changes To review changes and accept or reject them, click Proof, Accept/Reject Changes. Use the Accept/Reject Changes dialog to Accept or Reject Edits One at a Time, Accept All or Reject All. The box at the top of the Accept/Reject Changes dialog should be set to "Track Changes (NB 9 and Later)" unless you are working on a document that includes redlining that was inserted using version 5, 6 or 7 of Nota Bene. See Old-Style Redlining if you are working with such a document.
If you choose to accept or reject one at a time, the edits will be highlighted one at a time, and you will be able to choose to accept, reject or decide later.
You can also use the action line to track changes. See RED, PE, CE commands. and TX command.
