The note tool bar can be opened from the Note Window and clicking the icon at the top of the green bar on the left side of the note window, or by pressing Ctrl+F1 when the cursor is Inside the note. The note toolbar will display as a green bar on top of the note window.
Click the button at the left side of the note toolbar to display a map of all note formatting commands in the file to make sure that note formats are consistent throughout the file. See Element Map.
Click the second button to open the Footnotes/Endnotes Options dialog. This dialog can also be opened by clicking Tools, Preferences and selecting Footnotes/Endnotes. The Footnotes/Endnotes Options dialog is used to change the default settings for footnotes and endnotes.
Click the third button if you would like the note tool bar to display whenever you open the note window.
A label for cross references can be entered in the box provided. See Cross References.
The blue arrows can be used to go to the previous or next note. You can also use Alt + Home/End to go to the previous or next note.
Press the next button to keep the note tool bar open while you return to the main document (or use Ctrl+click to return to the main document).
Click one of the last three buttons to save any changes and close the note window, cancel changes and close the note window, or close the note tool bar.
