Font Style/Mode: keyboard shortcuts

Font style or mode commands (bold, italic, etc.) can be entered using the keyboard shortcuts shown below. If you want to change a block of text that has already been typed, select (or highlight) the block before using the keyboard shortcut.

Bold:  Ctrl+B
Italics:  Ctrl+I
Underline:  Ctrl+U
Double underline:  Ctrl+D
Strike through:  Ctrl+\
Superscript:  Ctrl+]
Subscript:  Ctrl+[

Font style can also be changed by using the mode buttons on the format toolbar. Unless you have moved it, the format toolbar is on the left side of your Nota Bene screen.

Notes:

The changes will apply to text that is subsequently typed. If you prefer to have mode changes apply to all following text, click Format, Font, Configure Print Styles and select the second option.
The changes are additive, meaning that settings previously in place remain in place. For example, if you define a phrase in a sentence that is already in bold type and the press Ctrl+U, the phrase will be underlined and it will still be bold.
Font settings insert a command in the document that can be seen and edited or deleted in Show Codes View.
Add Shift to any of the above keyboard shortcuts and the key combination will be applied to one word only. For example, place the cursor on a word and press Ctrl+Shift+U to underline the word.
The above keyboard shortcuts can be used when entering text in Ibidem and in many Nota Bene dialogs.
