Generate Record Format

The Record Format selection on the Generate menu writes a Nota Bene document with field labels and field content as shown in the example below. Each record will be on a separate page. If you want to create a document with some, but not all records in a database, you must first create a subset.

To write a file in Record Format:

1Click Generate, Record Format. The Generate Record Format dialog will display.
2Click the Database and Subset to include in the Record Format output file.
3Set the options for the Fields to Include in the Record Format output file.
4Set the options for the Format of Field Names.
5Set the option for the separation of each record.
6Click OK and then View Results.

The Nota Bene file that is generated can be saved and/or printed.

If the bibliography includes hyperlinks, including links to Note-Taking files, after the bibliography or report is generated, you will be given the option of replacing the name of the link (i.e., the Description) with the text of that link. Note that for note-taking files, only the actual notes (not the formatted reference, keyword area, or annotation) will be included. Click Yes to include the text of the link.
