In Ibidem, note-taking files can be linked to each record in a database. Once at least a few note-taking files have been created and a few notes taken, you can create an Orbis textbase to search these notes-taking files. New note-taking files that are linked to any records in the same database will be added the next time you open the textbase.
To create this textbase:
| 1 | From the Orbis Gateway, click Create New, or from an open Orbis textbase, click File, New Textbase. The Create New Textbase dialog will open. |
| 2 | Enter a name for your textbase. The location of the management files will be as shown. There is no need to change the location of the management files, but you can do so if you have a reason for saving these management files in a different location. |
| 3 | Click Ibidem Note-Taking Files. A list of your Ibidem databases will appear. |
| 4 | Select the Ibidem database that you wish to use for this textbase. |
| 5 | Click GO. The Orbis Indexer will display the progress of the indexing process, and provide details about the textbase. When the indexing process is complete, you will be asked if you want to open the textbase. |
