Changing Headers/Footers in the Midst of a Document

The Headers and Footers dialog gives you the option of having different headers/footers for the first page and/or different headers/footers for odd/even pages. See Header/Footer dialog and Editing Headers/Footers. However, you may want to change headers or footers part way through the document.

To change headers and footers in the midst of a document:

1Make sure that the previous page ends with a hard page break (a blue pentagon with an X in it indicates the presence of a hard page break). A hard page break can be entered by pressing Ctrl+Enter.
2Place your cursor on the page where you want the new headers or footers to begin.
3Click Format, Headers and Footers, Insert Headers and/or Footers.
4Insert a new headers and footers as described the Headers and Footers dialog.

If you have more than one set of headers and footers in your document, you can view where each set of headers/footers starts by clicking Format, Headers and Footers, View Edit or Remove Headers and Footers.
