Borders

Borders can be placed around pages, frames, tables or snaking columns. In each case, the border is put in place when you set up the page, frame, table or column.  For instructions on creating borders, click one of the links below:

The Border Style dialog (Format, Borders) can be used to change borders that are already in place or to set the style for borders that you will use later in the document. This dialog cannot be used to create borders, but only to change or set the style of a border. Border styles can also be changed by editing page layout, frames, tables or columns (see the links above). The advantage of the Border Style dialog is that the styles for all of the borders can be changed from within the same dialog by clicking different tabs.

Borders can also be created using the action line. See Border Commands.

The Border Margins/Gutters dialog is used to set the distance between the text and the borders of tables or snaking columns or between the border of a cell and the text. See Border Margins/Gutters Dialog.
