Bookmarks

Bookmarks can be used to set a place in the document to which you can easily return. Up to 9 bookmarks can be set in each document. For example, if you are working at a particular point in a document, but want to check something at the beginning of the document, a bookmark could be set so that you can easily return to the same place. If text is added or moved, the page number may change, but the bookmark will remain at the point in the text specified. Bookmarks can be remembered from session to session.

To set the first bookmark in a document:

1Place your cursor at the point in the text where you want a bookmark
2Click Edit, Bookmarks (or press Ctrl+Q)
3Use the check box at the bottom of the dialog to indicate whether you do or do not want to save bookmarks with the file. Checking this box will enable you to return to the same bookmarks after closing and subsequently reopening the file.
4Use the second check box at the bottom of the dialog to indicate whether you do or do not want to mark the location of the bookmark with a non-printing dot.
5Click Set New Text at [arrow]. You should see the first line highlighted with the number 1, the page on which the bookmark is located, and a short line of text from your document displayed.
