Auto Replace Only |
|
Auto Replace Only will automatically correct commonly misspelled words as you type. With this feature on, Nota Bene recognizes certain commonly misspelled words and automatically replaces them with a word or phrase specified in one of the active user dictionaries. When such a correction is made, you will be notified with a beep. You will not hear a beep if you misspell a word unless it is a word which is automatically replaced.
Examples: If you type the word "recieve", you will hear the error beep and the word will be changed to "receive". If you type the word "spall", you will not hear a beep because the program is checking only for words to be automatically replaced, not spelling.
Auto Replace Only can be turned on (or off) in either of the following ways:
•Click Proof. If there is no check mark next to Auto Replace Only, click Auto Replace Only. If there is a check mark next to Auto Replace Only, then Auto Replace Only is already on. Press ESC. (If there is a check mark next to Auto Replace Only, then click to turn it off.) •Click Proof, Configure Spell. On the Options tab, click to check the "Auto Replace (Pairs) as you Type" box. (To turn this feature off, click to uncheck the box.)
Any changes that you make using the first method will be reflected in the Spell Configure dialog, and any changes you make using the second method will be shown in the Proof menu.
You can add auto-correct pairs (a misspelled word and the correctly spelled replacement). See Customizing Auto Replace. Auto Replace can also be used to replace an abbreviation with the word or phrase associated with it. See Auto Expand.
You can select the beep or sound that you hear when a word is replaced. See Configure Speller: Options Tab.
