Our announcement of the availability of a bottled NB+Wine for the Mac (end of June, 2015) seems to have hit a chord! We thought we’d share some of the reactions we have gotten from you, in part because of the sheer joy this announcement seems to have produced.

“15 years ago I turned to Mac. Today I am proud to launch my Dragonfly from my Mac. Could you imagine my feelings? It's like walking back to my home, moving carefully, looking around, my beautiful books on their shelter, my notes ... It's never too late. Thank You Nota Bene!”
Professor F.C.
“Many many thanks for doing and announcing the Wine version of NB. I've just installed it, and updated my Ibidem (with its 8000+ records) and am continuing to work on my next book ... for Yale UP. I'd started it using Crossover and it was OK, but this will make my life much easier, and I might even convince [my wife] to start using NB again, especially when I hold out the carrot of the shared bibliography. This is simply wonderful news. You can't believe how it has made my day!”
Professor J.B.
“Thank you for your email. I am very excited by this rapid progress toward full Apple capability for Nota Bene. This will be very important for acquiring new users, because many students and younger faculty use Apple computers. I couldn't resist the temptation to install the Wine version on a backup computer. It installed readily, although I did not uninstall CrossOver before installing the Wine bottle. It opened quickly, and I was able to play around with an older NB file that I downloaded from Dropbox. The "Help" drop down works like a charm. No troubles at all. Bottom line: from what I can see so far, the Wine version you are providing already works better than the CrossOver+NB combination.”
Professor W.T.
“We heard from Anne Putnam about a Mac-ish version, and, since I happened to be in my other office, I tried installing it. First I had to persuade my Mac that the installation file was safe (right click on the NB icon and choose 'run'). Then it installed beautifully ... I .. won't need to bother with Fusion any more. Yippee!!!”
Professor G.N.
“I wrote a colleague of mine about the availability of the new ‘bottled’ version of Nota Bene for Wine and he reported back that he was buying a Mac that very day. It’s ... a long-time Nota Bene user who has written three books with the program. He's been holding off on the switch to Mac, awaiting this moment.”
Professor C.M.H.
“Thank you for the new version of Nota Bene in a bottled format. I have it up and running and Nota Bene is working great...”
Professor C.B.
“I just downloaded NB 10 Plus for my Mac (great work, by the way). It looks great and is a lot less glitchy compared to the wine-version I was using).”
A.A. (student)
I've installed the updated version, and the display is much better. Thanks so much! It's very exciting to have NB for Mac, which will make using Archiva (and many other things) much easier!
Professor L.S.
“I downloaded the last version of NB for Mac. It is beautiful. The problem with the fonts is really solved. Thank you! This is so good.”
Professor S.S.
“I just downloaded 10 Plus. I love the look. It goes with my Mac look really well. Thank you. No more squinting.”
Professor M.J.P.
“Clean install process. NB opened up cleanly. . . . Excited to have NB working in a new environment.”
Professor A.E.
“It works (so far)! Hurray! . . . This is such a relief, and I am so grateful. Thank you and thank you again.”
Professor S.R.E.
“So I've got NB working fine on my Mac. Looks great. Ibid runs fine, and easily picked up my Dropbox-based files.”
Professor G.N.
“It works!”
Professor J.B.
