Set Field Sort Order

If you want to have a particular entry (a field in a single record) sorted differently, you can specify a different sort order. For example, you might want to have the name "Julia van Antwerpen" appear in a bibliography as "van Antwerpen, Julia" but sorted under the A's as if it were spelled "Antwerpen." Or you might want sorting to ignore an initial article in a non-English title.

To set the sort order for a field in a single record:

1 Place your cursor in the field in the record that you want to change.
2Click Edit, Set Field Sort Order, or right-click on the field and select Set Field Sort Order. The Alternate Sort Sequence dialog will open.
3 In the box at the top of the dialog, type in the field information as it should be sorted. In the above example, you would type in "Antwerpen" or "Antwerpen, Julia van" (use the longer version if there will be more than one Antwerpen in the bibliography).
4Click OK.

The new sort order will be visible in the Ibidem field in angled brackets. To remove this special sort order, delete the text in the angled brackets.

Bibliographies that are generated will reflect the changed sort order, but sorting in database pane will not be affected.
