Bibliography/Reference List Sort Rules

The Bibliography/Reference List Sort Rules dialog lets you customize the sort rules for standard bibliographic styles and order definitions. This dialog is accessed by opening Ibidem and clicking Generate, Bibliography (or Generate, Report) and then clicking the Sort Rules button.

The following options are available on the Bibliography/Reference List Sort Rules dialog:

Saved Rules

Choose the predefined publishing style or order definition you want to customize with new sort rules.

Save

Press the Save button to save the new sort rules with a predefined publishing style or order definition.

Rename

Press the Rename button to save the new sort rules as a new order definition you can use with any predefined publishing style.

Delete

Press the Delete button to delete a custom sort rule definition.

Field

Choose any field to sort by from the drop list. For bibliographic sorts (that ignore alphabetize by title when the author field is blank, ignore definite articles in title fields, that use the day/month for works published in the same year, etc.) choose Special Author or Special Year or Special Title.
