Phrase Library: Manage Libraries

You can maintain more than one phrase library by saving new sets of phrases to a new name. Phrase libraries are automatically given the extension .lib. You will then be able to load the library by pressing the Load button on any of the Phrases dialogs.

To save a set of phrases to a new name:

1Click Edit, Phrase Library, Insert or press Alt+F3. The Phrases: Insert dialog will appear.
2Click Save. The Phrase Library: Save Active Phrases dialog will appear.
3To save the phrases to a new name, click New.
4Type in a file name with no extension. The .lib extension will be added automatically.
5Use the dropdown list to select Automatic or Manual update status. Automatic will automatically save phrases that you add to the phrase library. Manual will save new phrases only when you click the Save button.
6Type in a description if this would be helpful to you in identifying the phrase library (optional).
7Click Save. The phrases will be saved to the name that you specified, but this library will not automatically be loaded.

To load a new phrase library:

1Click Edit, Phrase Library, Insert or press Alt+F3. The Phrases: Insert dialog will appear.
2Click Load. The Phrase Library: Load New Library dialog will appear.

A specific phrase library can be assigned to a document so that it will be automatically active whenever the document is open.
