Manuscript Files: Extra Pages

If you find that there are extra pages at the end of each chapter, use either one of the following methods to delete the extra pages.

Method 1

If you used frameworks/outlines or academic styles, open each chapter file individually, switch to codes view or draft view, and delete everything after the final OB command. The final OB command (<OB> alone, without any arguments inside the command brackets) marks the end of the framework structure. Normally there will be no text after the final OB command. However, if you do have text after the final OB command (i.e., text after the framework structure ends), you should not use this method.

Method 2

From within the manuscript text file, go to the end of each chapter, switch to codes view or draft view and delete any unwanted PG commands.

You do want a <PG> before the codes that begin the manuscript file ( i.e., the <NT/9 {[.....]c:\folder\file}>), but you do not want multiple PG commands.
There is often a <USDEFAULTS> there between the PG and the manuscript-file codes; you want to retain that.
A PG command should normally be followed by a paragraph marker (inserted by pressing Enter). If the <PG> is immediately followed by text, then the page will break at the end of the line, not exactly at the point of the PG command.
