List Unrecognized Words

You can have the program find all of the words in a document that are not recognized by the dictionary, open a new file with a list of all questionable words. Among other uses, this feature enables you to see all misspellings together, and to speed the process of creating a user dictionary. This feature works only in English.

To write all flagged words in an open document to a file, click Proof, List Unrecognized Words. You will be notified that this may take some time. When the list has been generated, you will be asked if you want to view the word list. The list will be generated in a file called {WORDS}.XSP. This file will be overwritten the next time you use this feature, so if you want to keep a copy of this list, you should save it to a different name. In most cases, however, you would view the list, add any words to your user dictionary and then have no further need tor retaining a copy of the list.

To add a word on the list to the dictionary, right-click on the word and choose Add to Dictionary. or use the Spell Utility Dialog Bar. The word will be added to the Primary User Dictionary (usually GENERAL.SPL).
