The Archiva Options dialog allows you to change the default settings for Archiva. To open this dialog, click Tools, Archiva, Configure Archiva. Settings can be changed as follows.
Activate Archiva Clipboard Watcher
You have three options for when the clipboard watcher is active:
| • | Only while Nota Bene is running. |
| • | After Nota Bene starts, but continuing after you exit Nota Bene (until you log off your computer). This is the default setting. |
| • | Whenever your computer is running (that is, as soon as you start up your computer). Select this option if you want Archiva to capture records even when Nota Bene is not running. |
Capture Messages & Options
Messages will be displayed if a format is not recognized. If you prefer not to see these messages, you can disable them individually or globally. To disable individually, use the check box at the bottom of each message to indicate that you do not want to see that message again. To disable or re-enable messages globally, select one of the following options.
| • | Show all error messages. Select this option if you want to re-enable any of the messages that you previously suppressed. Then you will need to individually suppress any messages that you do not wish to see. This setting returns you to the shipping default setting. |
| • | Show only error messages not suppressed individually. Messages that you have previously suppressed individually will continue to be suppressed. |
| • | Suppress all capture error messages. |
Append Options
| • | Prompt Before Appending. When appending records from the Captured Records database to a permanent Ibidem database, Archiva asks you to confirm that you want to append the selected records. If you would like to skip this confirmation step, you can uncheck the Prompt Before Appending checkbox.v |
| • | On-Line Keywords. Some web sites provide keywords with bibliographic data that is captured. If this box is checked, keywords will be saved in a separate field for on-line keywords (the @K field). If it is not checked, the keywords will be added to the regular keywords field (KW). If you are entering your own keywords in the KW field, you may want to keep on-line information in a separate field. |
Connect Options
The vast majority of Archiva users can ignore this setting. However, some systems erroneously report that NB should use a proxy server when it shouldn't. Checking the Ignore Proxy Server box will correct this problem. You should first check to make sure that your firewall allows NOTABENE.EXE to access the Internet.
