Records that have been retrieved by Archiva are displayed in a temporary Ibidem database, called {Library Search} or {Captured Web Records} or [Converted Bibliography} or {ISBN #s}. If your primary database is open, you will see tabs for your primary database and for any of these Archiva temporary databases at the bottom left of the Ibidem screen.
Records from the temporary Ibidem database can be added to your permanent database as follows.
| 1 | Decide which records you want to add to your permanent database. You can select records to be added as follows. |
| • | Currently selected record (click on the one record that you wish to add) |
| • | Marked records (click check box to mark the records that you want to add) |
| • | Unmarked records (click check box to mark the records that you want to exclude) |
| • | All records (no need to mark any records) |
| 2 | Use the drop down list at the bottom of the screen to select the database to which the records will be added. |
| 3 | If you do not need to check for duplicates, click the first button to the right. This will add the marked records to your database without checking for duplicates. If you would like to check for duplicates before adding records to your database, click the second button to the right. This will open the Ibidem: Importing Records -- Processing Duplicates dialog and begin the process of checking for duplicates. See Archiva Duplicate Detection. |
| 4 | After the records are added to your database, you will be prompted to delete the records from the temporary database. |
Note that the temporary databases are regular Ibidem databases. You can open these databases directly from the Ibidem File, Open Database dialog, where they appear as {Library Search} or {Captured Web Records} or [Converted Bibliography} or {ISBN #s}.
