Disable/Enable Archiva |
|
Archiva is activated when you open Nota Bene, and it continues to be active even after you close Nota Bene. You can change this default setting so that Archiva is active only while Nota Bene is running, or at all times (i.e., whenever the computer is on). See Archiva Options.
When Archiva is on, you may wish to disable the clipboard watcher temporarily. For example, there may be times when you are copying bibliographic data from a web site, but you do not want Archiva to capture it. Similarly, if you have Web Text Capture (one of the Archiva Platinum modules), you may want to copy text from a supported site, but not capture it in your database. It is easy to disable Archiva and then enable it again.
Archiva can be temporarily disabled in any of the following ways:
When you disable Archiva (or exit Archiva), the clipboard watcher is disabled, and material copied to the Windows clipboard will no longer be captured by Archiva. However, the functionality of Archiva is still available to you through the menu. Archiva, including clipboard capture, will be automatically enabled if you select any option on the Tools, Archiva menu (even if the option is not related to capturing data). When Archiva is disabled, the menu option on the Tools, Archiva menu and the button on the Configure Capture dialog is changed from Disable Archiva to Enable Archiva. Clicking Enable Archiva is another way to reactivate Archiva.
