Accents |
|
Accents can be added to letters in any of the following ways:
The Compose Key (F6) method:
Type a letter, and press F6. Find the accented letter on the F6 pop-up screen and double-click or type the letter shown in the small yellow square in the square that contains the character you want to enter. For more information see Compose Key (F6).
The Ctrl+Alt method:
Accented letters can be entered by pressing Ctrl+Alt+a letter. A keyboard diagram showing the letters to use with Ctrl+Alt can be displayed by pressing Shift+Ctrl+K and then clicking the Ctrl+Alt radio button. This method is quick and easy once you learn the keyboard position for each accented letter. For more information, see Accented Letters (Ctrl+Alt).
The Insert Menu method:
This is not the quickest method, but it is useful for those who do not use accented letters frequently. Accented letters can be entered from the Insert menu by clicking either Latin Vowels & Others or Character Inventory. See Character Inventory, or, if you have Lingua, see Lingua Character Inventory.
