Assigning Shortcut Keys

Once a style has been defined, you can assign the style to any letter or number (using the number keys at the top of your keyboard, not the numbers at the right side of the keyboard). The style can then be used by pressing Shift+Ins+ the key assigned to the style.

To assign a shortcut key to a defined style:

1Click Format, Styles
2Click the Shortcut Key button on the Styles dialog.
3The Styles: Shortcut Keys dialog will appear. In the main window, select the number or letter you wish to use as a shortcut by clicking on the number or letter (scroll down to see all of the options).
4Use the drop down list at the top of the dialog to select the name of the style you want to assign to the shortcut. When you click on a style in the drop down list at the top of the dialog, the name of the style will be entered on the line next to the number or letter you selected in step 3.
5Click OK

Once the shortcut key has been assigned, it will be reflected on the chart on the Styles dialog. You can now use the style by pressing Shift+Ins+ the letter or number you chose in step 3.
