Special Style Manuals

Nota Bene has developed individualized style manuals at the request of certain institutions including the University of Chicago and the Southern Baptist Seminaries (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary). Other institutions interested in this service should contact Nota Bene at technicalsupport@notabene.com. Beginning with version 9, it is possible to customize your own style manual. See Customizing a Style Manual.

To use one of these individualized style manuals that was developed by Nota Bene, it must first be installed. After installing it, the custom style manual will appear as an option in the New Standard Document dialog (File, New) and in the Academic Style Manuals dialog (Format, Style Manual).

There are two ways to install a custom style manual:

1Click Format, Style Manual. The Academic Style Manuals dialog will open.
2In the style manual drop list at the bottom of the dialog, select Other Customized Style Manuals.
3Available styles will be shown in sequence. Click Yes to install the style or No to skip to the next style.

Method Two

1Click File, New. The New Standard Document dialog will open.
2Double-click on the icon for Other Custom Style Manuals (or click the icon and then click OK).
3Available styles will be shown in sequence. Click Yes to install the style or No to skip to the next style.
