Nota Bene automatically uses smart quotes. However, you can change the default setting so that Nota Bene uses straight quotation marks which do not distinguish between open quotation marks and close quotation marks. To change this default setting:
Click Tools, Preferences
The Preferences dialog box will appear on your screen. Highlight Quote Key Type and click the Set button.
The Quote Type dialog box will appear on your screen. Click the Regular Quote/Apostrophe and Double Quote radio button.
Click OK. Close the Preferences dialog box by clicking Close (or by clicking the X in the top right corner).
