Search: Wildcard Character (*)

The * wildcard character lets you expand searches to include all the different variants of a word.

For example:

The search string psych* would find all entries in the textbase containing terms that begin with psych:

 psychological, psychology, psychoanalytic, psychotic, psychosomatic

The search string art* would retrieve all entries in the textbase containing art:

 art, artist, artisan, artifact, article

When you are searching a designated keywords textbase, the program treats spaces as characters. Thus the search string art * would find multiword phrases such as

art history, art dealer, art and society.

NB: The wildcard symbol must be entered at the end of a string of characters. It cannot be typed in the middle or at the beginning of a string.
