Search Tips (Orbis) |
|
Start out with a broad search. The retrieved entries will often provide information as to how you might narrow the search.
To retrieve all entries about a topic, you should link related keywords by or, or use the Synonyms search assistance.
There is no way for the search to distinguish between identically spelled words with different meanings (as Washington, the state, and Washington, the city, or Washington, the president). Often you will need to simply display the retrieved entries to locate the passages of text you need.
It is often advantageous to include a related keywords section when you are using any of the all-words-as-keywords entry formats; doing so lets you retrieve an entry even when the actual text of the entry does not include a particular word.
