If a or folder is entered as a search path in the Quick Open dialog, then a file can be opened by typing in the name of the file without specifying the location of the file. If you add the paths for all of the folders that you use for your Nota Bene documents, you will be able to use the Quick Open dialog to open any file by typing in the name of the file. The program will search for the file in all of the folders that you have entered as search paths. Up to 50 folders can be entered.
To enter a search path or folder in the Quick Open dialog:
| 1 | Click File, Quick Open or press Ctrl+F9 to open the Quick Open dialog. |
| 2 | Click the Search Path button at the bottom left of the dialog. |
| 3 | Type in the path or click the browse button (the button with ... to the right of the field with the blinking cursor). If you click the browse button, the Paths for Quick File Open dialog will open and you can use this dialog to to the folder that you want to enter. |
| 4 | Click OK. The folder that you specified will be added to the list of search paths. |
To open a file in any one of the folders that is entered in the Quick Open dialog as a search path :
| 1 | Click File, Quick Open or press Ctrl+F9 to open the Quick Open dialog. |
| 2 | Type the name of the file, including the extension, in the box above the word File. |
| 3 | Click Open. The program will look in all of the folders that have been entered as search paths to find and open the file. |
