RefWorks/RIS Format

If you have been using RefWorks bibliographic software, or if you have been using other software that can export records to RIS Format (e.g., Reference Manager or Zotero), then your records can be imported into an Ibidem database.

The first step is to use RefWorks or other software to create an export file that contains the records that you want to import into your Ibidem database.

1In RefWorks, select the records you want to export to Nota Bene.
2 Click Tools, Export Reference.
3Click Bibliographic Software (EndNote, Reference Manager, ProCite) to create an RIS Format export file.
4Click the Export to Text File button at the bottom of your screen.
5Your exported references should download automatically; if they don't, click the Download it link.
6The references will now be displayed in your browser.
7Use your browser to save this file (in Explorer, click File, Save As, and provide a filename). Make a note of the filename and the folder in which the file is saved.

Once your export file is created, use the Import Records dialog to import the records. Open Ibidem, open the database to which you wish to add the records and click File, Import Records. For more detailed instructions on this dialog, see Importing Records.
