In Page Layout view, you can display a full page or two full side-by-side pages on the screen. This can be used to obtain an overview of how the page will appear when printed. Every Nota Bene feature is available in this view, so this view can also be used for editing.
To display one full page, press Shift+F1 or click View, 1-Page Zoom or click the 1-Page Zoom button at the bottom of your screen.
To display two side-by-side pages, press Shift+F2 or click View, 2-Page Zoom or click the 2-Page Zoom button at the bottom of your screen. Press Shift+F2 again to toggle between two modes:
| • | Standard mode — first page is always on the left, so that two pages are shown side-by-side, regardless of starting page |
| • | Book/Publication mode — first, odd-numbered, page begins on the right, with successive spreads showing even-numbered page on left, and odd-numbered page on right, as in printed book |
.
To return to your document with your standard zoom setting, press Shift+F5.
You can advance backwards and forwards through the file in two ways:
| • | Two pages at a time (Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn) — every view shows another two pages |
| • | A single page at a time (Alt+PgUp/Dn) — this “slides” through the document one page at a time, with (to take the case of forward movement through the file) the page on the left disappearing, the page on the right moving to take its place, and a new page replacing the one just moved to the left, thus making it easy to view transitions between all pages |
The two-page view sizes the page based on the screen size so that 2 pages can be seen side-by-side. Use the zoom control to adjust the size of the display as follows:
| • | Standard — show two-full pages in their entirety (may not use full screen width in order to make sure that the vertical page size is displayed) |
| • | Maximum — show the two pages side-by-side, as large as possible, even if the entire vertical depth of the pages cannot be shown (without scrolling) |
| • | Minimum — reduce to any size to see more spreads at a time |
