Note-Taking File: Location

By default, all Note-Taking files that are linked to Ibidem records are stored in a subfolder of the folder that contains the database. The name of the subfolder is the filename used for the database followed by the number 1. It is recommended that you retain this system for the location and name of the note-taking files. Using the default location will make it easier to automatically include note-taking files in a database backup file (.NBB).

If you moved a database to a new machine in a new location, and the note-taking files can no longer be found in their original location, then you can set the location of the note-taking files.

1Open your database and click Links, Note-Taking Links or click the Configure Note Files button on the Control Nexus.
2Type in a new path to an existing folder or click the browse button (3 dots) and browse to the folder that contains the note-taking files for this database.
3 Click Set New and then click Accept.

This dialog lets you point to a new location. It does not move the note-taking files to a a new location.

To write a list of the folder and the linked files, click Print List. The folder and file names will be written to a Nota Bene file that you can save and/or print.
