Keyboard Dialog Bar (Alt+K) |
|
The Keyboard Dialog Bar provides a diagram of the currently active keyboard on the right side of your screen. To open this dialog bar, press Alt+K.
This dialog bar will show the Normal, Shift, Ctrl+Alt and Ctrl+Shift+Alt states for the active keyboard. Lingua users who switch to a different alphabet (e.g., Greek or Hebrew or Arabic), will see the keyboard chart for the alphabet that is currently active. It automatically updates as keyboards/alphabets are changed. This dialog bar can remain open on the right side of your screen as you work.
In addition to keyboard charts, the Alt+K dialog bar has tabs for Character Inventory (available only if you have purchased Lingua) and Phrase Library Keys. Clicking Alt+K repeatedly will cycle through the available tabs. Press Esc to return to the document. You can also use the mouse to move from your document to any of the tabs on the Keyboard Dialog Bar, and back to your document.
A chart of the currently active keyboard can also be displayed by pressing Ctrl+Shift+K. This is the chart that was used in earlier versions of Nota Bene (version 10 and prior) and it continues to be available as an option. However, for most purposes, the new Alt+K dialog bar is recommended. If the Keyboard Dialog Bar is already open, then pressing Ctrl+Shift+K will take you to the keyboard tab on the Alt+K dialog.
