Greek

Support for Greek is available in all parts of the Nota Bene Workstation, including Orbis, Ibidem and IbidPlus.

To change to the Greek alphabet, press Ctrl+Shift+G or click Tools, Lingua, Greek Alphabet or use the Language Bar. To return to the Roman alphabet, press Ctrl+Shift+R. The standard keyboard assigns the Greek letters to keys that are easy for someone who uses the standard English keyboard to remember. The alpha is assigned to the A key, beta to B, etc. Other Greek keyboards are also available and pressing Ctrl+Shift+K will display a printable chart of the currently active keyboard layout. For more detailed information, see Alphabets and Keyboards.

The sigma, assigned to the S key, will automatically display and print in the correct form depending on the position of the character in the word.. For more S, see Smart Characters in Greek and Hebrew.

To add accents or breathing marks, type a letter in Greek and then press F6. A small popup screen will appear. Type the letter in the small yellow box corresponding to the character that you want to enter.  For more detailed information, see Compose Key (F6)  or Compose Key (Greek).

When you switch to Greek, the Greek alphabet will also be active in Ibidem and Orbis. If you are in an Ibidem field or in the Orbis Find box, you can switch to Greek by pressing Ctrl+Shift+G.
