FieldTips and Field Help

It is very important to enter data in the correct format and in the correct field. Ibidem FieldTips and Field Help provide two easy ways to make sure that you are entering the correct information.

FieldTips: FieldTips are pop-up screens that display information about the field in which the cursor is placed. When relevant, additional information about how to enter data can be obtained by clicking on one of the Field Types buttons (Names, Roles, Years, Titles) in the active FieldTip screen. If Auto FieldTips is on, FieldTips will be displayed automatically as soon as you move your cursor to any field. If Auto FieldTips is not on, the FieldTip for any field can be displayed by moving your cursor to the field and pressing Ctrl+F1. Click Tools, Auto FieldTips to turn Auto FieldTips on or off.

Field Help: Field Help can be displayed as a pane on the Ibidem screen. Place your cursor in a field and click View, Field Help or press Alt+H. When you move to a new field, or a new record, the Field Help pane will remain open and will show information about the active field. click View, Field Help or press Alt+H again to close Field Help.
