Once a table has been created, the Edit Actions tab of the tables dialog is active. Open the Tables dialog by clicking Format, Tables, Table Editor. Click on the Edit Actions tab to edit the table as follows:
Add a row: Place your cursor on a row in the table and go to the Edit Actions tab of the tables dialog. Choose whether you want to add a row after or before the current row, and choose how many rows you want to add. Click one of the three buttons to add a row that consists of Only Columns (a blank row), or to add a row that includes the format, or to add a row that includes format plus text of the row where you have placed your cursor. A new blank row can be added without using the Edit Actions tab by placing your cursor anywhere in the row preceding the position of the one that you want to add and pressing Shift+Alt+[+] (using the + sign at the top of the keyboard).
Straddle Rows/Columns: Use the second section of the Edit Actions tab to combine two cells, making one cell that straddles two columns or one cell that straddles two rows. Click one of the 4 inner buttons to combine two cells. Click one of the 4 outer buttons to separate cells that have previously been combined. Move your cursor to hover over a button to see its exact function.
Cell options: At the bottom of the Edit Actions tabs are options to format an individual cell. Place your cursor in the cell you wish to edit, and then click one of the following options:
• Draw Border at Cell Bottom. Select this option to draw a line at the bottom of a cell. You will be given options for how to format the line. •Set/Override Cell Color. Select this option and the Colors dialog will open so that you can choose the background color for the cell.
